DONATE!

1000 people x $5 = a new community bookstore in Portland.

We're aiming to raise $5,000 by June 1st to help us open our brand new mini-bookstore. All it takes is 1000 people donating five dollars!

If you appreciate our ideas and dreams, please consider donating. Northstar is going to be an amazing and vibrant hub for community power in Portland, and it's going to take the collective resources of our community to get us off the ground.

If 1000 people give $5.00, we'll be there!

Your five dollars will have a long and happy life with us! Your donation will go towards opening our mini-store, which, in turn, will help us fundraise a lot more money in the future. We'll take your five dollars and use it to make ten dollars, and use that to make twenty... It's like you're donating several times over!

And, of course, all of the money we make through our mini-store will go towards our ultimate goal: opening a full-size, super beautiful worker-owned bookstore and free school!

CLICK HERE TO DONATE! This link takes you to our PayPal page, where you can then fill out a simple form, and donate via your credit or debit card.

Loaning to Northstar.

We're also seeking out personal loans to help raise money for our grand opening. Loans are just as helpful as donations -- after we open we'll be able to pay you back within a mutually agreeable number of months. We simply need the money to get off the ground! If you're interested in extending a loan, please contact us at northstar.infoshop@gmail.com.

Financial Sustainability.

We're carefully constructing our business plan to ensure that we'll be profitable enough to cover our expenses, fund our non-profit work, and pay our staff a modest stipend. Once open, we'll be entirely self-sustainable -- we just need to raise the initial start-up funds to make this dream a reality.

We encourage you to ask us about our financial plan. We want you to be confident that you're giving to a strong, long-lasting organization. We'd even be happy to meet over a cup of tea, and discuss our ideas in person. Don't be shy!
